A short story about the Tolliver Martin Feud of Rowan County, Kentucky

WE HAVE AN AMAZING BREAKTHRU!!!!!!!!!! As I have posted in the past, I have submitted DNA to Family Tree DNA and it has lead down a fascinating road....It has finally brought us to what we have been looking for - the answer to how we are related to the Taliaferro family of Central Virginia. The answer is that we are not related to them, DNA research finds that there are 3 distinct lines of the family's we have considered as one for a hundred or so years. Taliaferr-Toliver-Tolliver are 3 distinct lines. Taliaferro is well documented in the Charlottesville area. Toliver and Tolliver are mixed together in the North Carolina area, but are 2 different family's. The Toliver's of John and Tabitha are a line that DNA traces back to Biblical times, OUR TOLLIVERS ARE NOT TOLLIVERS AT ALL....!!!!DNA matches show us as undoubtedly descended from the OLIVER/OLIPHANT family in Ireland/Wales/Scotland and even France. Somewhere in the now very familiar excuse of someone writing a name wrong and it being changed forever it happened to us. At some point someone - for example, Jesse T Oliver became Jesse Tolliver having this happen to him. So now all of our research needs to be pointed to these names to see if we can find when our Jesse was born and to whom. A brief look shows Olivers in and around all the areas we have researched in the past so we need to take another look at all of those records. I have met 2 men via the DNA research project that have their family trees traced back a long way and we are ABSOLUTE matches to them so all that remains is to get back to finding Jesse's parentage via these family names....
